Scars? Two faint cuts around the neck area as a result of Malnosso experimentation occurring in September of CY1. The wounds were severe enough she risked bleeding out, and while most healed fine these two were the most severe and are still visible.
Wings? Tear's wings are a red-violet colour, for those who have played Tales of the Abyss they resemble the sky of the Qliphoth (otherwise, here is a good image of it). They are almost always kept in due to the vulnerability of them, and Tear doesn't feel comfortable with that otherwise she would have them out always. Because they're cute. On occasion they are out, and she does have some backless and/or modified clothing for those occasions. Having them out around a person usually signifies ease and a strong sense of trust.
Death Penalties? Tear has technically experienced death in Luceti twice, about both in the same event. The draft in Zompania during May CY6 was one she took part in from the very beginning, and she was caught up in the bomb drop and the resulting aftermath. But due to fatigue and carelessness on her part, she fell at the hand of several Third Party that was witnessed by Jade. The price she paid was her voice, and when she returned Freyjadour was no longer in Luceti.

Tear's given name, Mystearica, can easily be broken down to two words: "mystery" and "tear." Her entrance into Luke's life and her motivations were a complete mystery at first, and even after she starts indulging details they aren't always all of them, and remain foggy. Despite this secrecy and that she was being set up to be the mole of the game, Tear proves to be the most trustworthy and honest of the party as time goes on. Even with this, she does her best to hide her true feelings and always seem strong by repressing these emotions. This is where the significance of "tear" comes in. Tear can express many different emotions, though most seem to gravitate to a more negative one first, plenty of which are prominent in Tear's life. There's an irony that this name was selected for someone who tries so hard to repress her emotions. While there are several instances where she is overwhelmed and seems close to the verge of tears, she never allows them to flow. The one instance of the game where she cries, the epilogue, is cryptic because of the nature of the scene, so the tear she shed could be one of sadness, defeat, relief or joy.
Looking at her real name and "tear" again and breaking it down further, we come up with Tea, a Spanish name derived from Dorotea and Theodora (which ties her further with Teodoro), meaning "gift from God(dess)." There is also another Spanish meaning, "aunt," emphasizing her motherly role for other members of the party. Another possibility is Tia, a Greek name meaning "princess, goddess, godly;" in a sense she is a princess because she and Van are the last of the Fende line, who were the original rulers of Hod and sometimes seen as divine. Given Yulia's connection with Lorelei, there is more symbolical meaning to her name and her name is indeed a spoiler in itself when if comes to it in the same way Van's is: "princess gifted from the Goddess."
Her middle name, Aura, refers to the mysterious and nurturing aura about her as well as possibly originating from the Latin name "Ora," which means to pray. Tear is arguably the most openly spiritual of the party, and she prays often both in her own time and to cast her artes. "Fende" itself can be derived from the term 'to defend," which was one of House Fende's duties even before switching roles with House Gardios and becoming their protectors. The surname she adopted from Teodoro, Grants, is fairly obvious at a glance with the meaning "to grant," but looking further it is a variation of the English surname "Grant," meaning "grand, tall, large, great."
